International Ornithological Research Summer Camp (Ciconia ciconia) Strk 2010

The 1st International Ornithological Research Summer Camp (Ciconia ciconia) Strk 2010 will take place in the region of Pomurje, the home of white storks in Slovenia. The surroundings are ideal environment for stork observation and carrying out research work. At the same time the participants will be able to enjoy the beauties of the Pomurje region and discover the beauties of this rich cultural heritage of Slovenia.
The focus of the camp is on the observation of storks and scientific research of the species. The participants will research the nutrition ecology of stork, using the method of observation in the nature, and prepare the inventory list of occupied and unoccupied stork nest in Prekmurje (a part of the Pomurje region).
With the results and data collected during the summer camp the participants will contribute to the preparation of a scientific publication on the white stork in Pomurje and its characteristics.
Participants should be from 14 to 23 years old.
Contribution for participation is 170 €.
Each participant should bring:
- appropriate cloths and shoes for outside work in any weather condition
- binoculars (advisable but not obligatory)
